2023 Nkombe Rhino Trip Booking Terms and Conditions:

Reservation Deposit and Payment

In order to confirm our clients’ reservation, we require a 50% deposit payment at the time of booking. Failure to do so will result in your reservation not being confirmed or held. The balance of payment is due 8 weeks (56 days) prior to the commencement of your itinerary. Bookings made within 8 weeks (56 days) prior to departure are subject to full prepayment at the time of confirming the reservation. Please note that you will be quoted in Rand (ZAR) and payment must be made in the Rand total, regardless of the current USD exchange rate. The South African Reserve Bank prohibits South African companies from taking foreign credit card payments and keeping the payment in foreign currency. The payment must be converted to South African Rand before it is credited to the recipient. Clients are welcome to settle payment by means of a bank transfer or wire of their choosing. All fees and bank charges are the responsibility of the client, in addition to the invoice total; it is the client’s responsibility to instruct their banker or assure through their online payment service that the trip invoice total equals the funds transferred and cleared to Nkombe Africa. Nkombe Africa will include all information required for payment through any online service or bank with the trip invoice. We have had good experience using the online transfer service wise.com. Depending on the service you choose, ACH drafts are typically the most affordable option, though wire transfers and credit cards may be used for an additional fee.

Flights

Nkombe Africa handles no international flights from outside of Africa, knowing that many travel insurances are linked to the credit card used of the flight payment. The client is encouraged to book their own international flights, or we will gladly refer them to our ticketing agent for assistance. Please note that if international flights are booked through our ticketing agent, payment is required at time of purchase to secure the flights, and subject to all agent and airline terms. For any included Southern Africa domestic flights, Nkombe Africa works exclusively with a ticketing agent and doesn’t handle any flights in-house. When booking domestic flights, we require a copy of all passengers’ passports for the ticketing agent. For security purposes, airlines require the full name of each passenger as printed on their passport and will not accept changes once tickets are issued. Nkombe Africa accepts no responsibility for incorrect passport numbers or incorrect spelling of full names. Please ensure accurate information is provided.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend all clients purchase adequate travel insurance covering cancellations, delays, and medical emergencies. Please be particularly aware of the Covid-19 policies on the coverage you choose and note that Nkombe Africa is not responsible for any additional housing, food, medical, transportation, or other costs due to a need to quarantine or extend travel. There are many options available for travel insurance with varying levels of coverage and expense. We recommend you take out insurance as soon as your booking is confirmed. Nkombe Africa’s recommended insurance is Global Rescue, a leader in the travel services industry. For more information on Global Rescue, please reach out to one of their helpful consultants. Alternatively, Squaremouth is an excellent resource to learn more about what to look for in travel insurance, compare options, and get quotes.

Our Standard Cancellation Policy*

• Cancellation prior to 8 weeks of travel - Full deposit is forfeited (50% of total cost)

• Cancellation 4 – 8 weeks prior to travel - Full deposit is forfeited (50% of total cost) with reimbursement of remaining 50% in South African Rand as originally quoted, regardless of current USD exchange rates.

• Cancellation less than 4 weeks prior to travel - 100% of total cost is forfeited

*Please also see our Amended Covid Cancellation Policy below, including a possible trip postponement option.

If we cancel your trip: Important: This trip is based on a minimum group size of at least 6 guests (maximum 8). Before booking flights, please confirm that the minimum group size has been met and the trip is confirmed. Any flights booked prior to this confirmation are at the client’s own risk should the minimum group size for the trip not be met. If the minimum group size is not met and the trip is cancelled, a full refund of all monies paid will be issued. If the minimum group size had been reached but we experience late cancellations by other clients, meaning the minimum number is no longer met, we reserve the right to cancel or amend the trip as necessary. Once the group size is met and the trip is confirmed, any trip cancellation or breech of agreement by Nkombe Africa will result in either a full refund to those still committed to the trip, or preferably, a transfer of the trip to a future date.

Passports, Visas, and Children Please note that anyone traveling to South Africa must have two consecutive blank pages in their passport which lie side by side when the passport is open (i.e. a left and a right-hand page), and their passport must be valid (not expire) for 30 days after the intended date of departure. Passengers traveling to South Africa with passports which do not comply with these requirements will either be stopped from boarding the aircraft or risk deportation on arrival in South Africa. Visas are currently not required for US Citizens traveling to South Africa (for tourism or business) for less than 90 days. Visas required for other nationalities or visits to other countries will be the sole responsibility of the client. A parent traveling with children, without the other parent, will need a letter of consent from the absent parent. This letter of consent must be certified by the police.
